The Barnyard is located in the South of the South Island of New Zealand. It's located between the townships of
Te Anau & Manapouri.

Te Anau is the gateway to Fiordland and the last main town before you travel the 120km to Milford Sound. It's also the starting point for two of the 'Great Walks', the Kepler and Milford tracks.

The Te Anau township has plenty of facilities to keep you stocked up on both provisions and entertainment. There's supermarkets, gift shops, plenty of restaurants and the Te Anau-Au Glow-Worm caves. There's even high speed internet access and a cinema!

Don't forget to visit the Department of Conservation centre to get the latest forecasts if you're thinking about doing any walking in the area.

You can also check out the road conditions to Milford Sound if you're visiting in the winter months by going to the local i-Site Centre by the lake front.
